Flashback: Eri accepted the project and started taking up acting workshops along with Rina in preparation for the first day of shooting.
Summary: finally, it's the first day of shooting. Things had change between Kanata and Eri without Chinen's knowing how or when.  "What's in a name with which we call a rose would smell as sweet?"-William Shakespeare ^_._^

Chapter 6: What's in a name...

"Eto..."Eri's eyes moved as she read the script while lying in her bed back in her cozy bedroom. She was getting engrossed by the plot of the story instead of trying to memorize her lines. She had to read some parts over. She had spent the whole afternoon preparing for the shoot the next day.
"I'm Chinen-kun's sister and..let's see...Hongo-san's his bestfriend and our childhood friend but they became rivals in stardom when they've grown up...hmm... eto...Hongo-san's has feelings for...eh?!" Eri reread the last part wide-eyed. "watashi? I..I..mean my character...right. Why am I being so flustered about?" She snapped at herself continuing her readings. "So we will be playing the teen versions of the main characters..." her thoughts brought her back to the meeting specifically to the people she met. "That means, when my character grows up she'll become..." her mind drifted back once again to that stunning actress who was also at the meeting. "uwaaah~" Eri stood and examined herself in front of the mirror. "I wonder if she's okay with me acting as her younger self?" She made a face at her own reflection.
"Eri-chan, time for dinner!" Her mom's voice rang from downstairs.
"Hai, coming!" she called back, hurrying out of her room.

"Ohayou!" Chinen greeted the staff cheerfully as he arrived at the set. His eyes searched for her co-stars and found them seated a few distance from him. His cheeriness depleted however when he came closer and saw Eri and Kanata laughing and seemed to be having fun together.
"Uh! Oniichi's here." Eri told Kanata noticing Chinen approaching. They both stood and greeted him.
"Ohayou!" Chinen tried to be cheery again.
"Ohayou!" the two smiled back.
"How was your photo-shoot?"Kanata inquired. Chinen had arrived later than them because of another schedule he had.
"It was great. Sorry for being late." Chinen bowed briefly.
"Daijoubu. Koichi-kun and I was asked to shoot some scenes with the two of us in it while waiting for you." Eri shook her head.
Chinen wondered about "Koichi-kun" and remembered that Kanata's character was named Koichi.
"Ah sou ka." he voiced out his thoughts. The other two took it as a response to what Eri said.
"Hai, by the way, Director Ishi decided to have us do the hard scenes first before we move on to the easier ones. nee, Shizuna-chan?" Kanata informed him.
Shizuna-chan? again Chinen remembered that Eri's character was named so. Demo nande?
"Sou yo, I was very nervous when the director told us." Eri nodded.
"But Shizuna-chan acted well and Director Ishi even said she had improved a lot." Kanata added which made Eri blush.
"iie, It was thanks to Koichi-kun's lead and director Ishi's guidance." Eri replied.
"Yokou ganbatta na." Chinen praised her which made her blush again. He smiled at how he's able to illicit the same reaction from her.
"That's right. You definitely worked hard." Kanata patted Eri's head. This gesture didn't help Chinen.
Since when did they become so close? Chinen's thoughts were interrupted by the director call.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The three listened attentively to the director as he explained what he wanted them to do and how he wants them to do it.
"I presumed you guys have read the script already." director Ishi stated rather than asked. The three nodded.
"Since you will be playing their teen version, mostly comprised of their high school life till the auditions to stardom, your scenes would be in the first few episodes then also in some occasional flashbacks by the adult characters." The three nodded again as the director went on. "We've already shot some scenes of Shizuna and Koichi, so now that Shinichi's here (Chinen's character) we will first shoot the two boys' scenes since there's more of those. Like what I said earlier today, I want to start with the harder scenes then progress to the easier ones, so to speak."
"Hai." the three answered in synch.
They were then told to change into their costumes and have some retouch for their make-up. Soon afterwards the two boys entered the set and prepared for their take while Eri observed.
Chinen can't help feeling nervous, having not acted in a long while, added to that, Eri's watching them but then when the director yelled, "ACTION!" everything seemed to have melted as he got into his character.
Eri looked on in awe as the two performed. It seemed like seeing two different people altogether as they played their respective roles.
The director yelled "CUT! Hai okay desu."
They watched the clip of the scene, the director threw in some comments and praises as they reviewed it. Finally after a couple more shoot with the two boys, Eri's scene was up. At first it was with the all three of them. It was easier, Eri only have to follow the two's leads so she didn't find it hard to remember her lines. After the last take, the acting workshop paid off.
"Good job. It was better than I expected." Director Ishi commented mainly looking at Eri, being the rookie of the three. "You two are up." he gestured toward Chinen and Eri who nodded and proceeded to the set.
"Alright, this one's a bit of a drama, cameras ready on close-up..." Director Ishi told them over the megaphone.
Yabbai~ What are my lines again? Oh, right, okay... Eri thought frantically after hearing the directions, her nervousness rising at top speed. At the same time, Chinen wondered if he'll still be able to act as well as he did a while ago. He stole a glance at Eri and noticed her discomfort.
Dame da! I shouldn't be like this. Shikkarishite ore! Chinen told himself off. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"Yazaki-san." He gave Eri a start. She almost jumped.
"ah, gomen."he added quickly.
"iie, my fault, my mind's off somewhere." Eri hastily replied.
"Ano, daioubu desu. Just follow my lead ne? We can do this!" he encouraged her. It seemed to have worked, Eri relaxed a bit and like he did before, she too, took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She nodded at him.
"Ganbarrimasu."
"Yosh, Here we go." He was more determined than he thought.
They heard the director yelled,"Ready, Action!"
To them, it seemed to have ended as soon as it began.Little by little, their surroundings brought them back to the set as they left the lives of Shiniichi and Shizuna. Eri blinked a couple of times. She could hear clapping around her. He felt Chinen's hand brush her face as he wiped some of the tears that had fallen while she acted her role.
"You were great! How could you cry like that?" Chinen asked amazed and slightly worried, the way Eri cried was beyond her character. Somehow, he could feel a deeper sadness.
"Arigatou! Hontou ni." Eri sniffed gratefully. The staff were praising her and Director Ishi looked real proud.
"That was amazing, Shizuna-chan." Kanata ran up to them accompanying them as they walk back.
"Arigatou Koichi-kun. Yuuri-san helped me." Eri replied, now smiling though still a bit teary-eyed. Chinen brushed off hearing the names as he felt relieved seeing her smile again. Her tears bothered him more than the names.
They took their seats since the director had called for a break.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Yokatta~" Eri sighed as she relaxed herself on her chair. They had just finished eating their lunch.
"Sou desu ne." Chinen agreed, stretching in his own chair alongside Eri.
"Director Ishi seems to be in a good mood. I thought he was really scary." Kanata remarked slumped in his seat across them.
"I thought so too." Eri sat up straight.
"Yeah, he can be really scary." Chinen added with a shiver. Kanata and Eri laughed.
"A-ra, You guys on a break?" Aihara's voice made them jump. Each of them sighed relief upon realizing who had spoken.
"What's wrong with you three?" Aihara asked shifting her gaze from each one.
"Nothing." Eri assured her.
"Ne, Aihara-san, you should have seen her act." Chinen reported averting the topic.
"Yeah, Some of the staff I've met was talking about her. I saw the clip. You did really well Eri-chan." She hugged Eri. Eri muttered her thanks as Aihara released her.
"Oh right!" Aihara exclaimed clasping her hands together. She looked behind her as someone came up to them.
"Sempai~" Chinen stood up right away upon seeing who it was.
"Yo!" The newcomer greeted them and looked over at Chinen. "Chinen-kun You're here as well? Kanata-kun genki?"
"Konnichiwa." Kanata had stood as well and bowed briefly.
"Oh-chan, this is Eri." Aihara introduced.
"Konnichiwa, Yazaki Eri desu. Hajimemashite." Eri bowed as she introduced herself.
"So you're the one Ah-chan's been talking about. Ohno Satoshi desu, Yoroshiku." Ohno extended his hand to her. Eri took it.
"Sempai, what brought you here?" Chinen asked, wide-eyed.
"I was nearby, Ah-chan told me you were filming here so I decided to come and visit." Ohno turned to Chinen.
Chinen nodded though there was still a hint of query in his expression. It was soon verbalized by Eri.
"Ano, Ai-chan, mind if I ask you if... eto... if you are going out?" Eri asked softly, wondering whether she had been impertinent in asking.
"Out where?" Ohno asked rather amused.
"No, like dating." Chinen chimed in.
Ohno and Aihara looked at each other, smiled then turned back to them and nodded, their smile not leaving their faces.
"Sou yo." Ohno ruffled Chinen's hair.
So that's what's with 'Oh-chan and Ah-chan'... Kawaii~ Eri was smiling by herself.
They chatted for a bit more when the Director called them again signalling the end of their break. Aihara and Ohno wish them goodluck before they left.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Just as the director said, the rest of the shoot that afternoon went smoothly and was easier than the first ones. They finished on time. After a quick word, praises and thank you's, the three was back in their dressing rooms again. Changing in their own clothes.
Kanata was able to finish first followed by Chinen. They waited outside Eri's room.
"Omatase shimashita." Eri bowed whe she got out, realizing they've waited for her. The two shook their head and told her it's okay.
They were walking towards the exit and stopped as they got to the door. The rest of the staff were still packing up.
"Ano, Shizuna-chan, Chinen-kun, I'll go on ahead. I have another schedule after this. Otsukare sama!" Kanata bowed.
"Wakatta, Otsukare sama! Kyo wa arigatou." Eri replied, bowing briefly.
"Otsukare. Kanata kun. Ki otsukete ne." Chinen smiled at him.
"Un. Arigatou." Kanata nodded and smiled back. "Ja ne." he waved his hand as went.
"Ganbatte ne Koichi-kun!" Eri waved back.
The names didn't escape Chinen's notice this time, as his curiosity resurfaced.
Eri distracted him for a bit when she asked whether he too have other schedule. He muttered something about it being not til later that afternoon.
He was itching to ask Eri about the names and its implication. He finally plucked up some courage to ask.
"Ano Yazaki-san?" he started. Eri was rummaging through her bag, checking if she left anything in the dressing room as they waited for their respective rides.
"Hmm? Nani?" Eri closed her bag and gave her full attention to him.
He swallowed hard."Eto can I ask why err...how...umm... ano, can I call you Eri-chan?" Chinen finished though still debating within himself. He doubted, if not regretted asking. His heart started to pound as he waited for her answer. nani sore? It's just a name, why am I getting so flustered about?
Eri's face had gone pink again.
"Hai. ii desu.  ano... can I call you Oniichi as well?" Chinen barely heard her say softly. She was fiddling with her fingers.
"Un." Chinen nodded barely able to control his happiness. Just in time, Aihara came with her car while Chinen's car arrived as well. It was time to depart.
"Ja, Eri-chan, mata ne." Chinen resumed his usual cheeriness.
"Ja ne, Oniichi. ki otsukete ne." Eri smiled and waved before walking towards her manager's car.
"Ki otsukete." Chinen watched her get inside the car before going to his own ride.
